International Kindergarten Course

This course is designed to cultivate fluent English communication skills in young children and to strengthen their vocabulary in a more comprehensive way. The curriculum introduces a wide range of synonyms and more advanced vocabulary, going beyond what is typically taught in kindergartens in Hong Kong. The lessons are conducted entirely in English and follow this structured format: 0 - 10 minutes: Vocabulary Introduction The lesson begins with an engaging session where students learn new English vocabulary using flashcards. 10 - 25 minutes: Reinforcement Activities Students participate in fun writing exercises and interactive word recognition games to reinforce their understanding and retention. 25 - 50 minutes: Application of Knowledge During this period, students apply what they've learned through guided reading practice and worksheets, helping to solidify their comprehension. 50 - 60 minutes: Review and Recap The lesson concludes with a review session, where students revisit the vocabulary and concepts covered, ensuring a strong grasp of the material. Levels: 1. Walker (K1, 2-3 years old): This level offers a fully immersive English learning experience, using a diverse range of interactive activities to foster curiosity and creativity in English. The curriculum includes basic sentence communication, general knowledge (e.g. fruits, body parts, toys), simple story reading, a rich English vocabulary, gross and fine motor skills, personal and social abilities, problem-solving skills, and emotional management. 2. Jogger (K2, 4-5 years old): Designed for children aged 4 to 5, this level aims to enhance writing skills and expand English vocabulary while improving sentence structuring abilities. The curriculum covers a broader range of nouns, verbs, and adjectives, and uses interactive games to boost confidence in English conversation. It also strengthens word recognition based on phonics knowledge (e.g. sight words), introduces short sentences with adjectives, and includes basic writing skills, independent learning and management, as well as general knowledge and vocabulary. 3. Runner (K3, 5-6 years old): Tailored for kindergarten students preparing to enter Primary 1, this level teaches essential English grammar and sentence construction required for Primary 1, improving students' listening, writing, reading, and speaking skills. The course helps students grasp basic grammar, expand their use of English vocabulary, and develop their writing skills for short sentences and paragraphs, effectively preparing them for primary school. 4. Sprinter (K3, 5-6 years old): Specially designed for advanced K3 students, this level covers English grammar, basic punctuation, and sentence construction that is Primary 1 -2 levels, incorporating topics such as reading comprehension and writing. The curriculum is based on the standards of prestigious schools in Kowloon Tong. The course focuses on English grammar and punctuation, sentence and paragraph writing, and the use of different parts of speech in sentence construction. It also emphasizes logical thinking (e.g. story sequencing), independent critical thinking, and teamwork. This level requires an assessment of the student’s English proficiency by our teacher.

Read N Read Phonics

Our Read N Read Phonics Course is meticulously designed to instill a love for reading in young learners while enhancing their phonics skills and expanding their vocabulary. This course goes beyond basic reading by integrating phonics with comprehensive reading techniques, enabling students to master accurate British English pronunciation, develop reading fluency, and build a strong foundation in English literacy. Class Structure: First 10 mins: Learn key phonics sounds. 10-30 mins: Reinforce learning through interactive games and worksheets. 30-45 mins: Apply phonics knowledge by reading books; individual and group reading sessions. 45-60 mins: Complete worksheets to reinforce phonics and comprehension. Levels Overview: Level 1: - Basic phonics sounds and simple word construction. - Able to independently spell all vowel (V) and consonant (C) sounds. - Learn to blend sounds to form simple words (e.g., CVC words like "Bob," "rug"). - Recognise and differentiate the sounds within words, breaking them down into parts to assist in spelling. - Example words: rat, leg, hop, bell, Jack, pick, sick. Level 2: - Able to independently read 4-5 letter words formed by consonant + vowel + consonant + consonant (CVCC words like "hunt," "fast," "cart"). - Recognise and spell more complex words through blending and understanding consonant and vowel combinations. - Example words: snake, cake, late, wave, play, mail. Level 3: - Able to recognise and read all Level 1 and 2 words without hints. - Capable of independently reading short sentences. - Able to spell words with consonant + vowel + consonant + consonant structures (CVCC words like "caught," "thought," "naughty"). - Example words: knight, right, stare, fridge, judge, magic, circle. Level 4: - Completion of all Level 1-3 phonics levels. - Comprehensive spelling skills preparation for primary school dictation. - Able to independently read common words and short stories. - Example words: evening, computer, understanding, explosion, decision, mantle, handle. Level 5: - Able to read and comprehend text at the Primary 1 to 2 level (150 words). - Learn reading comprehension techniques to apply in exams. - Example words: stadium, America, disappear, ordinary, whisker, determination, sparkling, eagerly.
